Awesome Job RAMS!
Schools must meet 3 criteria to
be determined winners:
1. Stay clear of needs improvement status;
2. Demonstrate that at least 20% of students exceed standards in all test
areas as measured by state
assessments; and
3. Place in the 95th percentile or higher statewide in greatest student
achievement gains.
Arnold is one of only 5 middle
schools in the state of Georgia to receive this award for the 2007 - 2008 school
year.

Malia Allen - "Are colored orthodontic rubber bands as effective as clear rubber
bands?" - Medicine and Health - 1st place - went to STATE and placed 1st
Congratulations to our STATE Science Fair Winners
Malia Allen won 1st Place in Medical and Health Sciences
Lauren Wilson won 2nd Place in Engineering and Transportation plus a special
award from the Society of Automotive Engineers
There were over 700 participants at the State Science Fair in Athens, GA that
lasted 3 days. Many just received a certificate of participation!
What an awesome job Rams! Way to go Girls!

Congratulations to
Patti Gourd
"Above and Beyond the Call of Duty" Award for Top Secretary in MCSD
She was nominated and recognized
at the MCSD School Board meeting on 3/16/09. The ABCD Award is presented
monthly to a Muscogee County School District employee who has gone above and
beyond in the performance of his/her “job.” This individual shall have exhibited
unusual effort, initiative, motivation, encouragement, and/or related qualities,
and shall have achieved notable results. The winner will have contributed
either directly or indirectly to the betterment of our school district by
positively affecting our students--academically, socially, physically, or
emotionally.

Ronda Allen's Gifted Magnet Homeroom
They won the "Be Well" Program Competition for all of MCSD
Each student received a $400 gift card for a Wii, a Wii fit, and a game of their
choice

There will be an awards ceremony held at Arnold on Monday, May 18th at 2:20 PM

Congratulations to Jack Hooper, 8th grade Magnet Student
MCSD Georgia Middle School Reader of the Year
He was honored at the International Reading Conference on May 6th in
Atlanta, GA
His essay was submitted as the MCSD Reader of the Year at the state level where
he competed against more than 100 others for this award.

Winner of the National League of Junior Cotillions Best Mannered Teacher Award
Kelsey Brown wrote the winning essay about Mrs. Allen
Callie Hampton wrote a winning essay as well
There were only 3 students with winning essays and 2 were from AMA!

PTSA won 3 awards at the Spring District Conference: One for highest
membership increase for the entire Muscogee County!, A Community Outreach Award,
and a Parent Involvement Award
